Sick and Emergency Time, or SET, is tracked in BambooHR based on your Company's SET policies. Time away requests, approvals, balance adjustments, and historical records are all managed in the system. Below is an outline of how Supervisors, Payroll, and WorkforceWins administer SET balances for every employee.
Standard Accrual Process (How it is given to Employees)
Indefinite-term Employees
- Bamboo automatically renews each Employee's bucket of time annually on the first day of the calendar year.
Fixed-term Employees
- WorkforceWins manually sets the available time off at the outset of the Employee's term.
Requested in Advance
- Employee requests to use time via Bamboo.
- Supervisor approves or denies the request in Bamboo.
- Employee is automatically informed of the decision.
Once Time is Used
- Once the date of the planned time passes, the total approved amount is automatically deducted from the Employee's total by Bamboo.
Not Requested in Advance
- Employee may retro-actively request time off via Bamboo.
- Supervisor approves or denies the request in Bamboo.
- Employee is automatically informed of the decision.
End of Employment
- Remaining balances are not owed to the Employee.
Payroll Processing
- Payroll uses the time away history in Bamboo to reconcile time away questions that arise from the payroll data for the pay period.
